I had purchased the dev kit sek-scd41 but its out of stock as well. The SCD41 also does RH and T so you don't need a separate sensor for that.

I'm using an SCD41 with an OLED+microcontroller (using Sensirion's example code hacked a bit) and it seems to work well, cheaper than the NDIR using some photoacoustic magic.

I think that works for crystals too, thin silicon wafers are pretty flexy, particularly if you can grow them relatively free of defects.

The top comments basically mirrored my thoughts. I understand that companies starting out with minimal funding can't really pay you as much so they pay you in future earnings. However, from the employee perspective its a huge risk and

Now that regular cost-effective home HEPA filters are widely available I mostly rely on those. However, I find that the box fan + furnace filter works really well in the window to bring in fresh air without letting the pm2.5 in. This is nic

I have 2 coway units in a ~800sqft apartment and still have tons of dust but I open the windows a lot when its not smoky and I have a dog so who knows. The pre-filter does trap a lot of dust so there is obviously some (maybe minor) reductio

I don't think the purple air sensors (laser scattering plantower sensors) are very accurate at such extreme measurements. There are numerous laboratory permanent sensors deployed by various state, federal and local authorities that you

Cool, thanks, I look forward to trying this out. Been annoyed ever since my company moved to teams and I can't do all the cool background effects that my windows and mac coworkers have access to.

Mostly true but it drizzles a bit on the coast and there are thunderstorms with rain in the mountains so would be kinda interesting. Winter would have more activity.
