That's a fair point. I hadn't considered it from the perspective of having space for children, though I don't personally think the density of Tokyo is prohibitive. I'm curious about another thing: You mention 1000sqft+

Of course they’re more healthy, they eat less & walk more. I just returned from Japan, and the difference in quality of life due to urban density, reliable public transit, and walkability of every city I visited is staggering . There r

I don’t consider this “condescending”, necessarily. The problem of smartphone addiction really is as bad as alcoholism. Students are absolutely doomed without extreme action to prevent or punish their use within schools. Though I’d also s

I don't have well-defined reasoning for this, so maybe somebody else can expand on it: But it feels fundamentally wrong that detached, single-family (zoning restricted) homes are allowed to be purchased by investment firms & excl

Unfortunately, Tesla has already set a precedent with regards to reselling a car & the new owners needing to pay for upgraded features again.

Playstation doesn't appear to be doing poorly, but it's hard to ignore that margins are likely worse than previous generations as AAA game budgets have skyrocketed. In fact, the lifetime sales of PS5 aren't that far behind PS

I'm firmly of the belief that all users should wipe their post/comment history & delete their accounts before this happens. User-content is what provides reddit their value, but once they go public it's (almost) guarantee

I’ve been playing MHWorld on my steam deck OLED (low settings) at a consistently smooth 60fps. The only hiccup is the new map introduced in the Iceborne DLC (hoarfrost reach, the area covered in snow) hovers around 55-57. Side note, I’m afr

Completely agree. I would happily disable my Adblock (on YouTube only, general internet is still unusable without it) if I could pay a lower price just for this feature. I strongly suspect this is also the case for the overwhelming majority

Why wouldn’t it be serious? C has been used to write safe, stable, & portable software for decades. Compiler warnings & static analysis tools have come a long way to preventing the vast majority of safety issues in (new) C projects.

Does Medium automatically insert these AI generated images into every article now, or is that just the popular thing to do?

This is so hilariously out of touch that I would have believed it was satire without context. This is viral copy-paste quality material.

I did not realize it was a $6 billion/6000 person public company. Their product is single sign-on services & they’ve got this bad of a track record? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised anymore

Possibly a hot take, but youtube premium is too expensive. I don't care about youtube music, I don't care about offline use, I don't care about background play/queue on my phone. I just want to watch ad-free video, which

Like many others, I had (appropriately) written off gamemaker entirely as soon as they changed to a subscription model. It was always a solid choice for making games, so I'm glad to see that it might be worth using again.

Not sure why you’ve been downvoted when your statement is largely true. This isn’t even controversial. As with most public companies, the products WILL gradually get worse over time as the shareholders attempt to extort more profit from e

I believe the point of the original comment is that if you’d really like your business logic to be written in rust, you can already do so by building a backend service with a mature rust library & access it via web.
