Any important person can get red-carpet immigration treatment, why exactly does this particular case stink?

Currently the gold standard for luxury travel reviews is the Gallivanter’s guide, it’s written by a rather old couple and reflects this. The subscription is 1000 GBP/year, this is what you get http://dolphincp.com/wp-co

In countries where you can’t trust the local currency, this is normal, yeah. You wouldn’t want your work suddenly devalued by 15%

If Turkey is anything like eastern Europe, I’d be pretty confident that the people buying Apple stuff don’t have their salaries or bank accounts denominated in Lira. For example in Ukraine anything that matters is priced in USD

There are barely any useful public reviews for this kind of stuff*, if you’re looking for something at a similar price point you will need a good luxury travel agent to work with. I would suggest that you avoid the big ones like Black Tomat

Not the ability, but mostly the desire. It’s tremendously liberating to just have a good EA, travel agent or concierge service taking care of everything for you. Looking for flights and arranging other practical stuff is work, no reason to

Without fully reading the article, if you want to go somewhere really far out then Awasi Patagonia and White Desert are worth checking out. Antarctic Logistics offers some crazy multi-month expeditions too. Amankora in Bhutan is very coo

Advocating for better healthcare and social security borders on sociopathic lack of empathy? I guess we’ve moved on from calling Europeans communists. Perhaps you’re just an awful person?

Kind of their fault for not doing anything when they saw this coming, no? Some people just don’t have what it takes to run a business, what can you do? It’s not like any of these things happen suddenly, the warning signs show up years ahead

Of course not. Google, Facebook, Twitter and Tiktok will almost certainly comply. The actual requirements for presence in Russia seem to be minimal.

>Mostly the former Are you at all familiar with UK visa processes, or are you just guessing? Firstly, this isn’t a particularly good visa scheme. Secondly, there’s an extremely limited set of people who could apply for this.

Mostly the latter, this particular visa scheme just sucks. If you’re rich enough to move to the UK without having a job lined up, you’ll just go for the investor visa. If you have a job lined up, you’ll just get the work visa.

There’s no excuse to ask for an ID scan to “verify identity” when you can buy a really really good quality automatically generated fake id scan for $5. Would maybe be defensible if they asked for actually verifiable information, like a dump

Again, you don’t know this unless you literally work for amazon. This is obviously an exceptional situation and could be incorrectly displayed on the customer side, and correctly displayed in the seller central.

It’s not combative, it’s simply pointless to have a conversation with someone who isn’t actually paying attention. It’s also a perfectly reasonable assumption, as explained by the first two lines of my comment.

The OP says he reported it to the consumer protection advocate in his area. Who are the consumers affected by this? The best arguments here have been that maybe this fucks over the sellers (not from the OP, and no evidence to support that
