Does anyone else find it a little disconcerting that Dwolla would effectively control the direct financial payments market if this did replace ACH? Obviously, this is what Dwolla wants but the larger banks must be able to see it. They're th

Slightly off-topic. If you have a startup and you have a blog like this, why not have a very big obvious link to your main website?(i.e. mystartup.com instead of blog.mystartup.com). It seems like a no-brainer to me. It's great marketing fo

I've learned over the years to try talk to people online as if they were standing right in front of me. Most adults would never call another person a name (in seriousness) to their face. It's good manners but also from a practical perspecti

If you're building a project from scratch, I think you have to be more ruthless with your time than your objects. In the early stages of a product it's easy and cheap to refactor if you find your devspeed slowing down because of poor coding

Reminds me of the GDrive story[1]. Basically, Google killed a Dropbox competitor project 4 years ago because "files are so 1990". Fast forward from where they thought the death of files was imminent and they're now preparing to launch Googl

The first item on his list was a todo list. It's interesting because I once had (what I thought at least) was this killer idea for a personal task management app. I was psyched about it until I went and pitched it to a friend of mine and he

I worked remotely for a year and half and later worked from home for my own business. From my own perspective, I found it unsustainable. Mainly, there are the psychological benefits of working around other people that the internet can't rep

This appears to be specifically for chromium OS not the Chrome browser. If you look at the commit message it references a chromium-os bug. http://code.google.com/p/chromium-os/issues/detail?id=23271 If you're interested in the long term p

I do agree that the US immigration system sucks. As an Australian, you may not realize the current state of immigration policy in your own country. I'm an American and I live and work in Sydney. I came in on the 457 subclass visa. Not sure
