For a start you don’t have to look at the keyboard so you can spot typos as they happen and take advantage intellisense etc. Although at 90 wpm you’re probably not looking at the keyboard either. For me the main reason I value touch typing

I used to move the dock to the side, but with dual 4k 27" monitors there was too much mouse movement to get across to it. Now it's back on the bottom and hidden, and I just use spotlight to launch everything

I think the main objection is that these companies are treating their employees as an enemy rather than part of a team. Seems to me to be a very strong indicator of a toxic workplace

I was about the same age when I read HTWF&IP. It's a shame because it's a really good book about, basically, how to be a good person. I think the reason we put it off for so long is that they couldn't have titled it worse
