Try installing SwitchResX. macOS hides resolution options from you, even though they're supported.
I had an old 27" dell monitor that I thought was a blurry POS, until I plugged it into a Windows box and realised it was macOS that was the POS
- p_l 6y agoThe issue is that something is broken with handling of the display at driver level, and even if you use low-level APIs the native resolution simply does not show. AFAIK even SwitchResX (though I haven't tested specifically it, I tested other tools) won't be able to set the correct resolution.
