Almost everyone using an iphone to watch youtube, or using safari on Mac probably doesn't use any adblocking. I'd wager that's a significan part of the population in some countries (where Apple is dominant, like the US or Jap

That might make sense, but as it doesn't mention any cooling features, I assumed it was purely for (faucet) hot water. The fact that there's no tank is weird if it was for residential hot water, I think you're right that it&#

For other readers, this unit is a water heater, not an HVAC heat pump. It would be interesting to compare it to other heat pump water heaters to get an idea if the performance is that much better, of if the interesting feature is its operat

Unfortunately, this is not an ideal design. - Most USB hub chips can be strapped/hard wired configured, or controllable by i2c already directly. Funnily enough this chip isn't, but is extremely cheap (less than 24 cents!). - The &

Correct, it's produced as a cool nerdy promo by a CT scan machine company ( https://www.scanofthemonth.com/about ) Every article from them does pretty well on HN, understandably so.

I think the issue is less execs getting tased, but more peer pressuring any and all employees to "ride the lightning" and get tased, lest they be shunned as not being "all in". (similar for getting company logo tattoos a

That's a good thing. Judging from the two video tweets I saw about the sign, its brightness at night was absolutely insane, lighting up the building across the screen with aggressive flashing/pulsing white light.

This is a rehash of a study NASA did in 1989 [1]. The report still advises activated carbon filters (Usually combined with HEPA for particulates) as the proper way of cleaning up large volumes of air i.e. you'd need a lot of plants to

The modern ones have thunderbolt 3 or 4, so you have to get a dongle, but you can get a lot more IO going (including 10G)

I had a 6th gen and now a 11th gen NUC (both used) as a little home server to run docker/plex . (since the intel chips can do transcoding pretty well). Runs so well, cool and quiet in a closet shelf. They will be missed, I guess I

Unless I misunderstood the article [1], it describes this very same HW-based method of power glitching the chip at a crucial time using an external STM32F0 controlling the Vcore going to the nRF. Basically preventing it from checking if it&

Not only are the NOx levels much higher like the article states, PM2.5 particulates also go through the roof (>100-200, or way higher without ventilation, observed with a PM2.5 sensor) from the flame as well as the oil/nonstick pans
