There was definitely a cultural problem at facebook in terms of how they were treating the developer community. The copious unanswered critical issues in the forums among other things sent a very clear message that FB has other priorities.

The reason Subway doesn't invest much in its website is because its primarily a franchise sales tool. The consumer doesn't really factor in here much at the corporate level. I did a bunch of bids for some other very large franchise company

The question is how long will it take major game developers to build a similar game and turn on the marketing faucet? I don't know much about game development, but it sounds like it would be a pretty easy game to replicate, right?

Its great that they're trying to simplify it and use standards, its not so great that the way they've been getting there is to simply switch old things off without notice and not document or adequately announce the new ways of doing things

I don't believe every entrepreneur should write. Sometimes those of us with the passion & ability tend to take things a little too far... Its almost impossible for me to write something decent that isn't essentially a heated op-ed pie

I just came off of a project where we built the entire auth system on facebook. No other regi options - just facebook. I will never do that again. If that was to become the standard, facebook shot themselves in the foot with their crappy AP

Just want to say I'm really happy you wrote this post. Unannounced changes to the platform - breaking core things we were working with - under deadline, with a client recently resulted in one of the worst disasters I've ever had to deal wit

If anything you're infringing on thepiratebay.org more than ebay. Maybe another route is take a hint from pirate bay, and move your operation offshore.

In almost every important system in our economy, self employment is consistently overlooked or treated as an afterthought. Its not just the federal government, its pretty much everything. Taxation, business licenses, bank accounts, legal pr

I'd say there's a pretty obvious reason why bartenders have a higher divorce rate than engineers - access to alternatives. A bartender spends a good chunk of their time socializing with alternatives to their spouse. They're bound to meet so
