I just got off a gig working for someone who is like the king of customer acquisition. Very successful at it. Very difficult to work with. And this guy is only in his job because he was acquired in a buyout of his startup. From what I've

Amen. Definitely been sucked into and subsequently failed at Social Travel big time. I think that's a sexy one, there is an unsaid allure in it of being able to mix travel with running a startup. Such a crowded space, and most fail out the

I've been caught in this argument before. A situation arose with a client who wanted a male/female binary and I argued in favor of a third choice for those who didn't wish to self identify, as I have a few friends who are activists in this

I have a suspicion - based purely on speculation - the unspoken thing here is that most of these businesses had awesome products & teams but were hurting so badly financially that they were on their last breath. I wouldn't be surprised

I like the concept of "Digital Heritage" as they call it. I think preserving digital heritage may become an important issue in the next few years. As the world begins to recognize the historic legacy of the web, it may someday become as imp

As annoyed as I get when I receive downvotes, I think for the most part looking back, the comments were either divisive (and hence got some heated disagreement-based downvotes) or probably justified as downvote-worthy. For the most part the

With the price fixing the only competition in town is priced at free. Therefore the market should bear somewhere between $10 and free. But not $10. Its still a ripoff no matter what way you shake it. Competitively, paying to download someth

Most of my personal library is comprised of books I was given free or bought used in the $.50 - $6.00 range. On average I've read about 20% of each. What I can't get around with the Kindle is the idea of paying $10 for a digital copy of som

I think getting users to click video play buttons tends to be an effort in futility - video is a time commitment. Its a good supplement to the copy, but I probably wouldn't depend on it as your main tool to explain the product...
