I agree with most of the examples at the end of the post, except HelloFresh. I'm a huge fan of HelloFresh, and I think it solves an important problem which is one of waste. Before this service, I would buy odd quantities of ingredients

There's always a degree of subjectivity and personal taste, but I do consider this to be the peak of OS UIs. I have an "ironic" machine at home that is an old retina iMac, with Linux installed and themed with Chicago95. My at

I couldn't find an explanation for why a TV series (Twin Peaks: The Return) is in a Greatest Films of All Time list. In any case, that's a handy reference list for things to watch.

It's interesting that the Guardian was so famous for their typos (in the 1970s) that it earned them the "Grauniad" nickname. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Guardian (2nd paragraph) https://

Just as side note, I clap as in figure A2. However, it's one of those things in life where I don't remember when or why I started doing it like that. Surely I didn't clap like that before my earliest memories (3 or 4 yo).

Perhaps it's not really a "talking" instrument (as an actual voice is modulating), but Peter Frampton always comes to mind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7rFYbMhcG8&t=345s

I've tried Borg but I settled with Kopia and a[0] cheap S3-like storage. Everything is automated and runs on a schedule, but when I need some ad-hoc restore, say, of a single snapshot or folder I can always use KopiaUI. Been quite happ

These are not "small things", but things people generally don't pay attention and just use a cheap version. Using good quality ones really makes life better: A mechanical keyboard. Retina displays. Comfortable shoes. Prescrip

I really think that Python is not a good language for ML, it just got "there" first. The ecosystem is the real plus, of course. But the language is a headache for this. I agree with the "false economy" angle. I would hap

My takes: The UK has a ridiculously assymetric economy. You either move to London or fight for scraps anywhere else. This ties with the housing problem. Education is a debatable investiment, because highly qualified work presumes moving to

Yes, the world is complicated and there are numerous simpler explanations. The fact that a few (plural) of their friends were talking about X, means that they probably had a recent contact with X (searched for it, watched the videos, etc).
