I'm actually working on this. Component based over the wire TUI system. It's in a decent alpha state but I want to code and host some more sample sites before I start sharing a ton. Protocol: https://github.com/ren

I find this to be true. I find that while I work with people who are perfectly capable of becoming experts in a given category, they protect their brains from having to hold unnecessary information that isn't relevant to their current

For me, I agree that remote work doesn't work as well as collocation. Remote work is great for workers but terrible for managers and company efficiency. The type of work I do doesn't translate well to JIRA tickets. It takes 3 whit

Yeah, fast heay things and slow light things don't mix well together in flows. The fast things have to stop being fast to stop from obliterating the slow things. If you think of a hypothetical situation where 50% of the road things are

I agree. Just be careful not to call it "trickle down" because it's a trigger word for people. For example, who cares if a billionaire buys a yacht--the building of said yacht employed dozens of craftsmen, caused thousands of

Yes. Thanks for this. This is very very similar to what I'm trying to do. I guess more like the subproject https://github.com/charmbracelet/wish than anything. I suppose the difference is that I like the idea of b

Nothing, really. It's the "what's available" that's the problem. Quality paid services can't gain market share because free is a anticompetitive. Consumers will almost always choose it if it's not complete

I'm working on a terminal browser of sorts that is designed to browse terminal user interfaces served by servers. The idea is that no mouse input is supported and servers specify keyStrokes for links. It starts from a protobuf specific

Part of the reason I chose the terminal because it's basically the same on all platforms.

This comment speaks to me. I hate modern web development but I always want to build user interfaces so one day, I thought to myself "Why don't I start from scratch and make my own protocol and write a browser but only for the term

I'm hosting one in AWS and my monthly bill is only like $10/mo but I have other stuff running too. Static S3 with a codebuild pipeline so all I have to do is commit markdown to GH when I want to post. Here's a writeup on how

I've been working in centralized cloud management teams for a while now and I've been thinking a lot about the problems of understaffed teams and application complexity. I had a week off between roles and figured I'd compile

This is my job now as of 2 months ago. Best I can figure, the value we add is talking to the customer and translating their requirements into a build diagram for devops team that fits into the constraints of the enterprise restrictions. Has

I know my opinion is unpopular. I just don't trust drivers enough to pay attention when they have 3-5k lbs more weight than I do. Much safer to run on the sidewalk and I don't bother anyone.

But why would someone choose road cycling for exercise over running on a sidewalk? Road cycling is very expensive and inconveniences people.

I have this same theory with road cyclists. I have no problem with someone bicycling to get to work but there are many other types of exercise that don't involve blocking traffic by making other drivers terrified to hit you. It's

This reminds me of people who have children very young and by the time they realize in their late 30s how crazy the idea of a 21 year old being the sole example of how a human should behave, the children are now adults. Some things best do
