Waiting has its own beauty. If you are waiting for the bus, you are reading HN on phone, or listening music or just observing. In today's world, where you are bombarded with stimulation, you will always have the impulse to do this or that o

You must also consider that most people do not have the kind of talent for writing that you and patio11 possess. Hats off to you guys for pulling it off and showing the way and inspiring other people. For most normal folk, it will take year

Open source gets easier to install / use with time (eg Wordpress is a one click install on any standard hosting service) and it is really free for those who know to use it. The problem with open source is that there is little short term inc

Shameless plug, but I have been writing such a framework for quite sometime now. It has all the self-defining goodness you ask for - you can edit the models (a model is a model) via the admin interface. Also has an integrated front-end and

I am trying to grasp what you are saying. I live in a developing country and I exactly know what you mean. Protectionism sends shivers down the spines of policymakers in developing countries. My country (India) has seen great progress in th

I think this is brilliant for Open Source projects, and running an Open Source project I instinctively felt this is a great idea. There might be issues if the project has contributions from a large number of unconnected developers (on how t

That's interesting but most people don't know about it (and the sums are very small too). An integrated service would take things to a much different level much much more trust that the money actually goes to the developers.

I was not commenting on the ability of Dr (or is it Prof?) Phatak to answer, but the ability of students to ask questions. E-Yantra seems like a good project. Good luck.
