Somehow I can't bring myself to have sympathy for a community that is heavily funded by the tax payers of a relatively poor country like India to further its own progress, and use the opportunity as a ticket to a migrate to rich countries for their own personal gain. That is the real reason why there is so little innovation at IIT. I know people will cite remittances, but those are pittance compared to getting your hands dirty and building assets for your own society.
