Here here. Chrome's tab handling is a nightmare. I hope FF4 will give me a reason to switch back and get access to what should be simple things (vertical tab lists) but appear to be difficult to provide in Chrome.

I don't know about you, but using Chrome has always given me this unsettling feeling that somewhere in Google's server farm, a machine is collecting everything I do and linking it to my other activity (gmail, gdocs, etc). It might now actua

Sheesh. Listen, I'm a rubyist as much as anyone and have a number of commercial ruby/rails projects under my belt, but I've also done Java for more than a decade. This willingness by rubyists to piss on Java is quite silly. Java as a langua

Regarding a better default terminal app, I use Terminator ( http://www.tenshu.net/terminator/ ). It's by far the best terminal I've found and far superior (imho) to ITerm2 on the mac. apt-get install terminator and spend some time looking a

The biggest annoyance for me has to be the fact that the gnome panel constantly seems to get confused on the order in which icons and gadgets should appear. I'll spend 30 minutes getting the notification area, icons, menus, etc arranged jus

I truly believe Ubuntu is missing a huge opportunity regarding apt repository statistics. They should be able to track (at least on the mirrors they control) each time a user installs a particular package. Collecting these sorts of statist

Same here. Perhaps I'm not as sensitive to most regarding spacing, etc, or perhaps I'm just not sophisticated enough to recognize the shortcomings, but my Ubuntu desktop experience is just fine, and seems to improve with every release.

Desktop sharing with Compiz enabled. Currently you can share an Ubuntu desktop (System->Preferences->Remote Desktop) easily, but viewing these shared desktops doesn't work with any of the regular VNC clients (vinagre, xtightvncviewe

It sounds like the problem you both have is a high sense of entitlement for something that the license doesn't entitle you to have...why is Red Hat at fault for asking you to pay for something that wasn't at all free or easy to create?

How exactly is RedHat not showing a commitment to open source? Do they invest in open source? CHECK. Do they contribute to the adoption of open source? CHECK. Are they abiding by the open source licenses that govern the use of the open sour

I believe this is what Aptana's Jaxer ( http://jaxer.org/ ) tried to do. It didn't exactly take the world by storm...but perhaps it was too early...

Actually, as mentioned here already, you don't have to go native if you're writing a game. You can use Corona with great success, or Unity3D if you're going the 3D route.

One of the nice things about Appcelerator, as opposed to Corona, is that it's open source and they have guides (iOS: http://guides.appcelerator.com/en/module_ios.html , Android: http://developer.appcelerator.com/guides/en/module_android.h
