A friend of mine has a Kindle w/Special Offers. He actually bought two, having lost one on an airplane. Apparently the special offers were good enough that he easily paid for both. At this point, I'm wishing I could opt in my Kindle 3.

For me, the problem is that Facebook constantly wants me to overshare, and I feel like I constantly need to pull back. It's never just "authenticate with Facebook", it's "Authenticate with Facebook, give the app 30 different ways to violate

I really don't know how to feel about Posterous at this point. When I signed up in the early days, it was awesome. They were the simple and concise, yet ridiculously powerful alternative to tumblr - email post@posterous.com, get a blog. I l

Kindle (and Nook, and Adobe) DRM has been super-easy to crack for a while now. You can even set up Calibre to do it for you.

I certainly don't blame them for continuing to play the game as it's currently played. I was just hoping that they would also look into other, broader, more beneficial options.

I'm kind of disappointed that the word "reform" doesn't show up anywhere in this article. Indeed, one of the main courses of action they're taking is to "strengthen our own patent portfolio"…

I'm curious as well. While I haven't upgraded any older projects, I started a new project on 3.1.rc4 several weeks ago and (besides deprecation warnings for some testing tools) have had very few problems that grabbing a newer gem couldn't f
