Better how? iSSH has more features (the port-forwarding alone will keep me using it), but Prompt seems to have the basic login-and-command-line functionality working far better than any other client I've used. (All IMO, of course.)

It's a hoax, folks: http://blog.macromates.com/ There's an extra 'c' in the submitter's URL.

The MD5 of the .dmg I downloaded from oldapps.com and the one I got direct from Skype via ascott's link are one and the same, though I suppose OldApps could've replaced it with a fresh version.

I don't think that'll work for me, as I use 3rd-party Twitter clients that won't be able to pass a Twitter.com referrer. (And unless Twitter whitelists all URL shorteners, the referrer likely wouldn't point back to Twitter anyway. But many

I feel like I read more than 20 articles a month just from various links, but not enough to make it worth $15/mo. If they had some option to increase the number of views for the rest of the month for $5 or less, I'd at least consider it.

If there's one thing I'd single out about Twitter for Mac, it's the non-standard window implantation. The titlebar at the top is invisible and tiny, the plus button is more useless then a normal OS X app, you can't drag the window off-scree

I completely disagree; if anything, I feel there's more relevant competition going on then there's been in a while. Certainly when Tweetie was on top, I feel like there was very little good competition, although I never checked out Birdfeed

iPhone is only one small piece of the iOS puzzle, though - iPod touches and iPads add a not-small chunk to iOS' marketshare.

I agree whole-heartedly. (The below is, of course, my opinion only.) For me, the writing was on the wall when Twitter for iPhone first came out; they took the relatively simple and easy-to-use search screen and combined a bunch of separate

You can be in Taiwan and shoot a BBM to your partner in SF without having to worry about some ridiculous charge. BBM uses data, right? Wouldn't there be outrageous per kilobyte charges? Or does RIM have deals in place to get around that s

Forgive me, for I know little in the ways of BlackBerrys, but: what's so great about BBM? Why is it so much better then SMS/Google Voice/IM with push/Facebook Chat that people go out of their way to purchase BlackBerry devices?

Supposedly DisplayPort is theoretically capable of at least one extra display, but Apple's tech specs page still says "an" external display, so I don't think they've implemented that yet. Still, I'm thinking there might be Thunderbolt-compa

Again, I'm not sure what details you're looking for; the stuff I care about (cost, departure and arrival time, rough length of flight, where it connects) is all right there. As someone who lives in a city that's always one connecting flight

What details do you need that aren't there? I see airlines, stops, price, and time information. EDIT: Whoops, meant to hit cancel in the iOS app as I wanted to write a bit more but didn't have time… I'll leave the message as it stands.

You often have to rearrange your UI due to varying lengths of words/phrases across languages, so just swapping out strings isn't enough.

So is the estimated and/or actual battery life better in the shipping units? That seemed to be his main complaint, and that complaint seems like it would apply equally to both iPhone and Android WakeMates.

First, even if it is SATA 1.5Gbps, it's still a great upgrade, and you can take the SSD with you to your next machine - the SSDs Apple is shipping in the MBPs are not very good, and you'd be better off buying one separately anyway. Second,

You can also keep the hard drive and replace the optical drive using several brackets available on the market. Depending on which MBP you have, you may even be able to fit a 12.5mm SATA drive, which means you could potentially squeeze in a

Completely agreed, even down to describing my SSD as "the best upgrade I've ever purchased" to friends. I have a non-unibody MBP from the 2007 era that I now have almost zero interest in upgrading; if it weren't for the fact mine is showing

The Intel SSDs are good; they top out at 160GB and they're not as fast as some of the newer drives - but their track record is nearly flawless. It's what I have, but I ordered one the minute it was posted on Newegg last year. Some of the ne
