Op here, I totally agree we need to re-think keyboard ergonomics! Millions of people have pain from the design of these things. I am so happy the article sparked a little conversation.

I applaud any effort to rethink keyboards from first principles. After years of shoulder, neck and back pain I discovered that the root cause was the standard keyboard design. It causes rounded shoulders. Perhaps my shoulders are just too w

It's far from the whole story, but hardware companies tend to have lower multiples.

Is $19 per dose expensive? Not knowing anything about pharma costs, it seems about what it'd expect. Especially compared to the economic savings.

It would just be so darn useful to be able to use confluence for customer facing docs. Every year or so I come looking for this ticket, and get sad.

I hear stories like this occasionally. I've used node heavily at every day job for about 9 years. Needing to blow away node modules is so rare. Even on large teams with nested package.json files. With npm link and library development.

My father grew up on a farm that was mostly for subsistence. He said to pinch off the first few green tomatoes to improve yields. I occasionally do this but have not tried to measure any yield differences.

> I'm a Libra which means I was born to find balance While there may be good points in the article, this indicates a low level of scientific rigor by the writer. Couldn't continue after that.

When compared to losing power in a rolling brown out, it seems a reasonable option. I only set the AC to 78 anyways. I guess humidity may require lower norms?

Oil was peoples lives, at first. Oil barrens manipulated whole towns out of their land, stole, lied, and destroyed livelihoods. Oil still destroys peoples lives, but the damage is abstracted.

It is a very cool idea. Also seems possible to DIY in a less tech advanced way. Eye contact seems like the hurdle for making it feel real. With a screen that large, it may feel like someone is looking below the head, which may feel off.

It doesn’t work well for a team though, with a bunch of local markdown files - does it?

Spot on. I worked 5 years in the restaurant business during college. Still have occasional nightmares of getting 4 tables sat at once.

Healthy skepticism is good. Dev tools are hard. There are hundreds of open source companies - many making gobs of money. Not all - many fail. This team has name recognition and a few successful projects already - Babel and yarn. I can see i

That complicated Java file is a stream of 1s and 0s. The “kinds of things” in a processor that interprets the Java file - also very simple. There is a huge amount of complexity represented by very few distinct types of things.

Narrowband IoT data service. Very low power, low bandwidth, cheap, with increasingly great coverage. It’s like an offshoot of LTE but classified as a 5G technology for massive numbers of low power internet connected devices.

As an embedded hobbyist, I wondered this the other day. Why Intel wouldn’t open up old fabs to embedded developers. It could be a huge boon to that industry which is clearly growing rapidly, and much is developed overseas at larger sizes.

Perhaps. Small children are also exceptionally accident prone. On the other hand, human children are incredibly curious and experiment with everything. It may not be stupidity that keeps them from following directions.
