Of course not. That's not really a boundary, that's just someone being an ass. I consider a boundary to be a personal limit that is decided ahead of time, which preferably is communicated ahead of time. An example would be if we l

I just read No More Mr Nice Guy[1] and recommend it. I rarely agree 100% with everything in a book, and 90% of this book was spot-on for me. I'll try to summarize some of the advice from the book. * "Nice Guys" are pushover

For a young girl, it looks like the new Batgirl might fit the bill well [1]. Not trying to minimize the issue, I just thought the author might like this for their daughter. [1]: http://36.media.tumblr.com/98dffc116ba398dd717

There's gotta be some way to make a pay-only streaming service that would fairly compensate artists... What if, instead of being paid per play, artists were compensated based on the number of unique visitors that played their music? So

Could it have something to do with the increase in quality and quantity of pleasant distractions? It's in our pockets, at our desks, in our living rooms, everywhere. What if technological, political, and social progress has slowed down

I would argue various forms of anarchism favor the people at the cost of the state, which is also bad for different reasons. So real life needs some kind of messy, complex balance between extremes.

Totally off topic, but you should look up the power poses TED talk. It really has helped me seem more confident and capable during phone interviews, as silly as it seems. If you don't have time to watch the talk, basically our body lan

Another technique is to make empty time less horrid, which in turn reduces the need to immediately fill it, which in turn allows you to choose better activities instead of scrambling for what is the quickest and easiest distraction. Empty t

I think it's science fiction, but I'm not sure. The reason I think this is because it's in a section called "futures", which Nature describes elsewhere as "Science fiction from the home of science".

It would help to have a more specific definition. What is transhumanism, exactly? Humans already augmented their intelligence, their bodies, and their abilities with technology, and have done so for thousands of years.

I should have said "good idea for Telegram". I can see why the contest, and Telegram's general approach, is a bad idea for everyone as a whole, but IMO this is the best advertising $300,000 can buy.

I have a counter-proposal: 1) Universal basic income. You get paid like $10,000 no matter what. 2) Eliminate minimum wage. Anyone is free to earn extra if they so desire. 3) Outlaw rent control. Now you have more abundant housing. That woul
