In python I do horrible things like the following when nobody else is going to see it: [[[foo(x) for x in y] for y in bar_vec if baz(y)] for bar_vec in bar_mat if bar_vec != []]

Just dropping in to plug physical media. 4k Blu-Ray is always higher quality than streaming, and Blu-Ray almost always is. I'm talking noticeably, obviously better in terms of both picture and sound quality. Also, nobody can take it

That's basically what StumbleUpon was, and it was great while it lasted. You clicked like on stuff you liked, and it would show you more stuff that other people who liked similar things liked. If someone could make something like that

I think people already lived there and collectively decided to found a city where they were. Rich out of towners swooping in and buying local land hasn't worked out well for the locals historically.

This is exactly what I want in a car, unironically. I really dislike car culture. I think it is ruining America. This is like wanting a bus to be fun and exciting. Why are daily driver cars supposed to be fun? We are spending all our infras

I regret including Palestine and Afghanistan in my original comment. I didn't mean to be disingenuous. I should have included more countries like Argentina, Kenya, and India that aren't politically charged. My main point is that 5

That's the number Wikipedia gives for 2021. It's sourced from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. Maybe the data is self-reported and Palestine fudged the numbers? Maybe it's accurate for the time period and just su

Personally I would like to see us go below countries like Afghanistan (4.0), Argentina (4.6), Kenya (5.3), Iran (2.4), Israel (1.9), Palestine (0.9), or India (2.9). And preferably as low as, for instance, Spain (0.6), or even Japan (0.2).

Part of the answer is that people now are forgetting just how much goodwill Google had with the tech folks around the time Google came out with Chrome. It was open source! You could easily run it without Google! It was a titan squaring up a

Even better: a very high tax on the assessed unimproved land value of all privately owned land. This removes the ability to speculate on real estate entirely, which, if you think about it, maybe shouldn't be allowed in the first place,

I don't think that was implied, but yes! I'd rather be homeless at 20 than homeless at 70. Wouldn't you? At least I'd be less likely to die from a fall. At least I'd be more able to defend myself/run away.
