It was my impression that you can't do it even in unsafe because ownership rules still apply. But apparently I was wrong and there is a way to do it?

Modifying memory on the heap in multiple threads without a mutex, from one pointer. Why anyone would want that on purpose, I don't know.

I thought like you for several years. Then one day, I needed a custom type. You can use dicts (or lists, or namedtuples, I guess?), but it just ends up being cleaner and more idiomatic to define a class for the type, because you can define

It's not a big deal if you're only running one thing on the computer. The wasted cycles could have been used by a different process to do something else. Multiply this mindset by many services and applications and suddenly the com

I would recommend just vanilla C for maximum learning value. Learning about stack vs heap, pointers, memory allocation, etc. lets you learn more about what the computer is actually doing. It will make the computer seem less like a magic box

You may like Doom Emacs. It has really really good Vim keybindings. Some people like Spacemacs too, but I found it too bloated and too abstracted (hard to fix when it breaks). I still find myself reaching for Vim when I want to just write a

Sorta seems like we don't really understand inflation. Like how recently in the US, inflation got decoupled from money in circulation and nobody knows why.

Depends on if I'm thinking in an imperative or declarative programming style. ;) I typically prefer declarative (functional). I'll often have 0-length arrays that I iterate over, and expect the program to do nothing and not genera

I'm saying driveway guy is how almost all businesses work. Even more so if he incorporates and the business goes bankrupt, instead of him, if the business fails. That mundane, nom-exploitative setup is the norm, not the exception, for
