Paycheck to paycheck is vague though. If that includes having a secure job putting money into a 401k and paying down a mortgage maybe its a perfectly good strategy. If you aren't doing those things then you need to change.

Another benefit too is that the places to stay are usually available. Pre-Internet the hotels listed in the LP were usually booked out a year ahead, now you can actually reserve spaces in the recommended acommodations.

Went hiking while relying on a phone app. Offline, it cached the map no problems, until a few hours in when the TTL must have been triggered then everything disappeared. Bought a real map soon after.

Slowing down internet to a crawl works for me too. Once I hit my data limit it runs at 128 kb/s which is perfect. I just wish it ran at that speed all the time.

Also Greenland and Antartica have so much ice it produces a gravitational pull on the surrounding water. Its one of the reasons sea levels rise in most of the world when that gravity weakens and water is redistributed.

Agreed this is the best combination. Wood stoves are also great for when the power is out. If only my building would let me put a fire in my apartment. :)
