There was always corruption like Clinton pardoning Marc Rich or Biden pardoning his son (after claiming he wouldn't) but Trump is bringing it to a new level. First Blagojevich and now this guy. Really hard to justify these pardons.

"Where is the money really going?" That's what DOGE should lay out in a clear manner. But they don't.

I am all for efficiency and questioning what and how things are done. But this is just too heavy handed. I think DOGE is really not about efficiency but about reduction at any cost.

All the inconvenient rules that make the low level employees less efficient don't apply to the upper ranks. That allows them to complain about their employees.

I think both are true. The vibe-coders will run into massive problems. But AI will also improve a lot and probably be better than humans at some point.

“ Losing the ability to do mental math is probably not actually a big deal” I think it’s a huge deal. I see a lot of people do some financing stuff and they have no idea what a 20% interest rate really means. So they just go ahead and do it

For the last years of my dad a chat robot would have been a godsend. He had increasing dementia and the last years you had basically the same conversation every ten minutes. It’s really hard to stay nice and play along when this goes on for

You need to have a big ego to take on the responsibility of a doctor. A lot of people can’t handle it emotionally so the job selects for people with narcissism or psychopathy. This is a very rough generalization but from my interactions wit

Agreed. But I expect huge progress in the next years/decades. It feels like a lot of things are finally coming together. The same happened in the 90s with the internet or the 2000s with cell phones. People are doing research in a lot o

Let's hope Europe finally starts developing their own again. It will be good for jobs and technical knowledge. Globalization can be good but for critical things like weapons or also chips, it's better to have capability at home. I

“ What would an ERG for white people even do? What would you want from it?” What do other groups get? Support, networking, mentorship probably. A lot of white people could use that help too.
