I use a Dell XPS 13 with Ubuntu and I love it. Most of the complaints I have seen are either nitpicky or because the early versions did not have good HW support in the kernel. The latter has largely been fixed, and the former is only releva

To me, it looks like the 0.4% is on top of the 2.9% + $0.30. There is a "Looking for payment fees?" section on the pricing page.

There are fusion designs that heat water and there are some that can capture electricity directly. Who knows which will prevail but the the latter should be cheaper and more compact. Maybe so compact that it could be used on ships, trains,

Being pro-active about telling it which topics or sources you don't like helps a lot. My only wish is to say that I don't like a specific article. Often I get an article on a topic from a source I generally like but the specific a

Basic keyword search is great at recall but precision (top 10) gets worse as the number of documents increases. Given the size of the web, basic keyword search tends to perform poorly in terms of relevance. Common Crawl is large enough to s

Huh? It takes time to download all the filings by parsing the index for free [1] but it can be done. You also have to add back off logic when you get a "too many requests" error, but it isn't that hard. I did it and I am stil

You don't actually need 64GB or 32GB or whatever RAM. The docs should be more clear. What they mean to say is if you have a large enough dataset in production, 64GB RAM per node is the ideal maximum size. That is because 32GB is the ma

I don't agree that server-side rendering tends to be faster. I think it largely depends on the use case. I am going to use the word "responsive" rather than "faster" since it is more descriptive of how a UI feels. I

How does that improve privacy in this case? The sort of queries that can be made against a word vector model, and only a word vector model, are pretty trivial.

Can you expand on the privacy use case? I don't understand how applying a word vector model on the client improves privacy.

Yes, but many of the implementations are a nightmare to use if you have a complex schema and you want to return a meaningful, useful error to API users. To be fair, there can be ambiguity making it difficult for the library to return the co

I use JSON for data that needs structure, but doesn't need to be relational. That data is then returned with the rest of the row in a SELECT. I will use JSONB for the same reason, and I also need to query that data once in awhile. JSON

Sounds slow, but it depends on the total size of the index. I could see 10K PDFs being big enough to slow things down. The easiest thing to try is setting the Java heap to half the RAM up to 32GB. The more RAM the better in general. I have
