If the question is historical, it is because Python is easy to learn, easy to read, interfacing with C/C++ is easy to get existing ML/DS code, and it was one of the first scripting languages to handle huge numbers which is importa

What a misleading chart. It makes it seem like the market drops significantly every January. Yet if you look at a chart of the entire history of Bitcoin, you realize that Bitcoin has never dropped as much as in the last month or so. Not eve

The fact that there are "too many people" is why a run is possible [1]. If enough people start believing Bitcoin is going to lose value, there will be a run/crash. Ironically threads like this one, news of Bitcoin regulation,

I want to echo the advice about interns from David Wind. I have hired a few interns. While relatively cheap, which is attractive at an early stage, they took up a lot of my time and most of their work couldn't be used in the end. The l

My comment was in response to a question whether PG can do TF/IDF or BM25 and fuzzy search (handle misspelling) simultaneously. And as far as I am aware, PG cannot do it. My comment had nothing to do with your blog post.

Can you expand on the difficulty with synchronization? With ES I understand because you have to build it from scratch. However Solr has the DataImportHandler [1] which is made to sync data from a relational database. 1. https://l

Depending on the ES version, it either does TF/IDF (older versions) or BM25 (newer versions) by default. You have to explicitly disable it if you don't want it. https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsear

What complexity is added by keeping data in the tree? If we are talking about GB+ datasets, then yes that shouldn't be stored in the tree. But a small list of products that needs to be manually updated regardless of where it is stored?
