What about calling to stop the planned obsolescence? Things like replaceable batteries, longer support (security patches and parts) should be a good start.

They removed the wired option which created a problem for some and offered a solution. Yes, I know about the dongle, already lost 2 of them.

Apple Ecosystem, Apple's way - create a problem and a solution at the same. I wonder what's the ratio among the owners, who bought vs. who received them as a gift.

Imho it's far from "just". The advice works for short lifespan products and/or single "builder" and/or when requirements don't change much. Getting the product fast out there is not enough. It's

It's expensive because it's a locked in subscription. If I buy a coffee it's "mine", I don't have to buy next time if it's too expensive.

If you are interested doing other things at home, then why transition at all? I mean, how much time you will need to become good at "server side" and the company benefit from this? Imho it's about 50/50, company should n

Ability to run locally a production like setup (at smaller scale of course) is a big plus imho. 1st, you know how it works, 2nd smaller iterations/feedaback cycles (restart locally vs. push and wait for tests to run).

As a long time Eclipse user, Erlide has been working fine for me (1 week into learning Erlang). Autocompletion (both editor and shell) is helpful.

The question is, if the project you worked would be a mess from the beginning, would it allow your company to test and scrap features fast? Yes, it's possible, but at what cost? E.g. long hours, unhappy devs, implementation taking too

Could you be more specific what loophole? I am in a similar situation, I am full time employed (as a developer) by 1 person GmbH. I work with a tax agency that has not said anything about this. Thanks.
