Having heavy regulations almost helps in some cases because it both discourages low level copycats and also protects you to a degree - if someone sues you can say "I followed all the compliance standards!". And hopefully you have

I am thinking of starting a hardware product based company, and the thing that worries me the most is liability since the US is so litigious If your product is so easily copied, unfortunately it will be copied. It isn't a good thing b

I have followed a similar vim path, although my vimrc file never was close to 1,000 lines long! I used to use many plugins though including nerdtree, airline, and surround. But in the end it was always difficult to maintain that setup lon

Check out hackaday.com, there are lots of great examples of all sorts of hardware projects on there! Some are definitely similar to the level of functionality you are looking at.

I agree with this, the best parts of the cloud is abstracting away a lot of the basic maintenance of these applications. There is lock in to some platform no matter what you do, but hopefully you can design your application so that if you d
