Flame retardants (or flame-resistant fabrics) are also used in children's pajamas which is a little more concerning to me as a parent than whatever is on the couch. Luckily there are a lot of cotton snug fitting pajamas out there as an alternative! With couches I do wonder how much of a risk out-gassing is because of all the new foam inside, plus the fact that new houses are pretty much air tight means you'll be breathing it!
