I feel your pain... I was looking at building a house (with a national builder) and the historical prices in that neighborhood showed that the price went up about 30% in the past year. I think most of that was just the general price of hou

It does not hurt to ask, especially at a larger corporation (you may hurt feelings at a smaller company for example). I would leave out any comparison to other interns and focus on how much value you have provided already. However, they ma

I had a lot of this last time I was looking for a new job! I applied to about 15 as well, heard back from a few quick no's but had only one interview which led to an offer. Literally months later I then received about 6 interview reque

I think it depends on the types of companies you are working with. Lots of larger enterprise corporations are going with Azure, there will be lots of opportunities in that space. Smaller and newer companies generally are using AWS more tha

It's been a few years since I've used it, but that wouldn't surprise me. A lot of these project management tools bloat over time.

Have you tried Wrike at all? Of all the project management tools I've used I enjoyed Wrike the most. What I liked most about it is that you can combine the same tasks together in multiple places... which helps me since many tasks don&

I had some issues with my g code files on my prusa printer - I think it expects some special start up sequence of g code. There is also an x y z offset which seemed useful, but it replaced my calibration so I needed to recalibrate after!

Some cron-like libraries, like Quartz Job Scheduler, actually have a seconds number first! That bit me once when I was trying to schedule something to occur every 5 minutes, and ended up running it every five seconds...

I love org mode and use it all the time, but I still occasionally blow up my file with inadvertent vim commands! Yes I know I am a weirdo for using eVil mode :) The most common mistake I make is having caps lock on and hitting J a bunch whi

So the question to me boils down to - what to do about it? We could easily have another decade (or 2 or 3) of economic growth before the next crash. The hard part isn't predicting the crash, it is predicting when it will happen. The

You definitely have that right, but at this point the choice isn't vaccine vs no vaccine, it is vaccine vs getting covid. It is much more contagious than it was last year.

If you need one car, the PHEV is definitely the best of both worlds. It also is not dependant on fast charging at all, so I did not need to install a level 2 charger at home or worry about my destination. The other benefit is it is still e

PHEVs don't seem to be popular but my car (Chevy Volt) has been a great gateway to a future EV. The only times I use any gas is if I do way more driving than usual in a day, or when the "engine maintence mode" kicks in once
