A few years ago I thought it would be funny to reverse engineer this same desk and add a small wifi board inside the control box. There is even a digital signal which controls the number display My plan was to slowly move the desk up while

Generally no, the desk is a serious pinch hazard since it is so heavy! It would be hard to detect a problem going down since the leg could just lift off the ground.

This is true. Having an extra few hundred dollars made a huge difference to me since I was always juggling the payday vs rent money as well. Credit cards are not easy to get with no credit history either. I eventually was able to get a card

That's interesting and I didn't know about that! I think at least in the great lakes area things should be ok, but who knows for sure what long term changes may happen.

I wish that people would listen to responses to common misconceptions on Facebook and Twitter these days. The answers are all great, but I could also understand why an American soldier would have those gripes in the first place!

The older I get the more I appreciate the US Midwest (where I am originally from and where I live now). There are quite a few advantages in your doomsday scenario as well! - Cooler climate, and far away from many natural disasters such as

I think it is a great idea, but if you want to reward a more sane investing strategy (ie low-cost broad index funds) you could maybe accelerate historical or simulated data and anonymize the ticker IDs? Obviously there will probably be one

Wow I had no idea a Masters could be that expensive! I paid $16k for a Masters in Computer Engineering at a local unglamorous state university (half paid for by my employer) and immediately got a promotion for $30k when I was done, so it wa

This seems like a service which is impossible to scale! The more well known it becomes, the less effective it will be. That said, some candidates have inspired me to check out a new tech or project from their resume.

I agree with this definition. A lot of factors go into it - how much cash you have in your bank account, how easy it is for you to pick up a new job, etc. Having "FU" money doesn't mean you have to quit your job at the slig
