i like the idea of rethinking surveys. 1) have you thought about voting schemas besides multiple choice? ex. rank choice, weighted preference, exclusion, multiple round voting.. there's a field of economics called "social choice t

i completely agree with that sentiment. even if the audience is familiar, acronyms and abbreviations put a cost on the listener/reader to "unzip" them. in code, in meetings, in communication generally, the priority should be

i think for most software engineering, pursuing novel innovations is not the best thing to optimize. novelty can mean complexity and duplication. but i would totally agree with taking risk around giving people freedom to decide what to work

i don't mean "BS" with venom aimed at you. but you equated a cash transaction at a store to data commodification by internet companies. data commodification is very materially different from exchanging a currency for a physic

BS. paying for internet products with personal data is nothing like a financial transaction at a store. money is a uniform unit; personal data is not that. Those of us who are well-aware of data harvesting still forget about it all the time

*idk about that last part; it's a dumb anecdote. the auto-formatting i'm salty about is prettier. ones that are manually invoked and either 0 config or highly configurable (like eslint) seem sensible. use an auto-formatting hook

i completely agree with you. i think the people who advocate for auto-formatters must not be very skilled at using their text-editors and/or don't put enough attention on readability/understandability. i'm happy with lin

Flagging is distinct from removing posts. Removing seems obviously wrong for the reasons you give. Flagging is probably ok, maybe even the right thing to do.

if this rolled out, just the knowledge of its existence would probably put some fear in people to comply with whatever the government was asking people to do. it's a case being made for total surveillance.

Contact tracing has a time and place, and it's early in isolated outbreaks. The cat is out of the bag at this point and thinking we're going to contact trace our way to safety is a false promise. You'd have to be naive and sh

Postgraphile is more open-ended and advanced, which could be better for some cases. I really like it and enjoy writing the PostgreSQL directly. Prisma compresses the domain a little more than Postgraphile, which means its a little simpler.
