Hi Peter, thanks for doing this! As a Brit with 10 years experience as a developer but no degree, do I have any hope at all of being able to come and work in the USA?

Depends where you live. In London, Google Maps makes tube stations obvious with a big London Underground logo. Apple Maps gives them a tiny purple icon that gets lost in the noise.

I had this. It turned out that my issue was that "%matplotlib" and "%matplotlib inline" are different, and I was using one when I needed to use the other (I forget which). Edit: Just noticed you didn't mention Jupyt

I don't think DuskStar was claiming it was a false-flag protest, just that it made the people doing it look bad.

The only real issue I have with Electron, that I don't see brought up when it's discussed here, is the process model. Last time I checked, each window in your Electron app had to run in a different process. This is a design that m

I wonder how many of these design decisions were actually made consciously, and how many are just the result of things like blind A/B testing. If your scientific test shows you that feature set A has better user retention than feature

There is a theory that organizations which are concerned with right and wrong will simply be out-competed by those with no such qualms. There's an interesting essay on the subject: https://slatestarcodex.com/2014/0

Sounds like you could build such a tool on top of Git itself, just using, say, an orphan branch to store discussion histories, submitted patches, etc.

I'd want to investigate not relying on in-band signalling for terminal control. So, perhaps have two input streams: stdin and stdctrl? Also, it'd be tempting to try and add more structure, but I honestly think bare streams of byte
