Sounds like you've got something mapped to a key sequence that starts with O. You can look through :map and try and find it -- not sure if there's an easier way.

Thanks for responding. Yeah, my package isn't in core, although it seems I would just have a different problem if it were (upgrade to YourLib 2.0 or get boneyarded) I get that it's all a tradeoff, and it must to help keep complexi

As a user, Homebrew is a great experience. As a package maintainer, though, one thing surprised me: you can't make your package depend on a specific version -- even a major version -- of a library. So if MyApp uses YourLib 1.0, everyth

Brogue is very traditional and very thoughtfully designed. It's the author's idea of what Rogue might look like today if development had continued. https://sites.google.com/site/broguegame/ It's my

Surprised ag isn't better known here. If you grep through code a lot and you haven't tried it, I'd heartily recommend it.

That was a good read. I'd be interested to see the author address trademarks and branding, because that's where you find the intersection of identity (rivalrous in her thesis) and the creative arts (non-rivalrous). The author stat

It wasn't obvious. There are a few things you could have meant. People often guess wrong if you aren't explicit, or will just be confused and not reply.

Seconded. Flash's vector engine was also superior to the Canvas 2D API. You can export to HTML/JS from Flash these days but you get artifacts and gaps at the edges because Canvas simply doesn't support things like shapes shar

One that I find interesting is that we Brits say "the BBC" but don't extend that courtesy to other broadcasters, either foreign (ABC, NBC) or British (ITV). I guess that reflects how it's seen as a little more than just

With interesting things happening in Rust-land, I decided to take another run at Rust and see how it's improved in the last year. This isn't really a blog or a tutorial, it's just me stumbling around and trying stuff. I enjoy

This is true, but I believe that in modern JS implementations, the performance difference isn't as large as one might expect. The similarity to Python is limited to syntax — I just wanted to raise the point that in both Python and prot

I stopped using constructors (and prototypes) a couple of years ago and it's improved my relationship with JS tremendously. A couple more benefits: 1. You never need to see "this" again. You can refer to a method as object.me
