One of these games was designed to be hard for computers, the others are way less popular than go and have far less history, and hence competition/interest. It's an exaggeration but a pretty minor one.

record the timing in MS for the update and draw stages of every frame This tells you nothing about when the frame actually makes it to the screen. It's ok for optimizing your own code, not so useful for comparing across devices, plat

Sounds like it's a round of optimizations, see the changelog. It's both software and a .0 release, of course there will be bugs :)

So GCC takes longer to compile but produces a better optimized binary? That makes the comparison pretty useless as you can probably just reduce the GCC optimization level.

The reasoning there is, certainly post-Heartbleed, very scary. Their conclusion boils down to that they want to use the system-provided OpenSSL on Android, rather than shipping NSS. This might be fine if you're running a Nexus device t

The problem is that it's not healthy for Firefox to be seen as pro or anti gay rights, or whatever not-directly-web-related political issue, really. That's the point of the parent post. What does the fox say about assault rifle ow

What I'd like is granularity on this. Well, that makes two of us. I'm sure all Android developers would like the option to request permissions at point of use, so users who want to use the feature can give the permission, and th

I am pretty sure that webdevs touting the victory of HTML5 have no idea what native offers and how many years behind even the best web-based offering is. It's just an example of worse-is-better in action. Many webapps offer mediocre

I never had a Symbian device...but always had a bit of a soft spot for them. As someone who had and had to develop for it in the early days: those two things are directly correlated.

Requesting 50M+ of storage for a single player game is a good enough reason, that's not outrageous for graphics resources, music etc. But would you understand that this necessarily leads to the app having to request: <uses-p

You might reasonably argue that Firefox OS will not get much traction, but denying it's existence as you're doing is foolish, because it obviously exists. There is no difference between apps and webpages. None. Zero. That's t

I agree there's no point in getting a Firefox OS phone if you have a phone with a decently modern browser. Their pricing and hardware positioning appear to be squarely aimed at those places where those are not available. However, tha

Fastest way to get your app removed from my phone? Request additional permissions. Unfortunately there's little the developers can do about it, short of not adding any features. You have to ask for every permissions your app could po

From quick reading: 1) I agree the time-based skilling isn't necessarily a good thing. 2) You didn't seem to realize you could get your stuff FedExed, by any of the player-operated services. The latter illustrates the good point o
