I really think the skills and "product" would be better. The managing and structure could be a nightmare though. Then again, Accenture shows they can be a nightmare too.

You can certainly take pride in your work and build a good product all the same though. Big consulting companies usually deliver bad products because their structure makes it almost impossible to do anything else.

I had the (mis)fortune of being on a college campus during the height of covid. I'm totally down for taking precautions. I'm not down for the idea that this behavior can't go too far. I remember seeing a kid forget to wear

Yep. I'm all for people choosing their transit... but even if I'm not driving, 3x-ing the commute just isn't something I could do.

So stupid question but I guess it isn't worth it to somehow push them up with small corrections/booster-like things? At least to save it for a few more years? What happens when they fall? Do they more or less burn up? Really fasc

Hey, at least you're not in econ/finance ;) Absolutely everyone can (and does) have an opinion on how to run the entire economy. At least you guys can say a bunch of stuff specific stuff and 99% of everyone will have to take you

ahah, true. That's why I generally don't give much weight to those types of "evidence." What you're describing is usually what happens when you talk to them.

I'm constantly in a state of flipping between "this is a psyop" to "stupider things have come to light." I guess my best example is how people claim 9/11 was an inside job. All the evidence is made up of "

I was one of those kids. Only because taking the bus was a pain in the ass and my parents loved me enough to put up with it, at least until I could drive. Bus was awful. Kids had no respect for the driver or other kids. Plus it easily tr

Sure. (sorry for late reply) I guess it's a lot of things. Really, there's a strong incentive to go to Miami for a lot of reasons, so when you stack up all the pros and cons, the politics could give Miami a slight edge.

I think the politics are a huge factor but not the only one. Crime stats are important but this move in particular is because of Citadel employees themselves becoming victims of crimes more often than before. (if they are to be believed)

I think a great rule of thumb is to never take away things that were previously free (maybe more for features of a service/startup). Copilot is such a marvel though. I think they could have gotten away with it if they did like you say

I've kinda always hated real estate in general... but I see it as a necessary evil. I hate the idea of trying to find a "great place" and then haggle for property and then find problems with the house, etc. Apartments solve

I used the free version of Tabnine and beta tested Copilot. I actually really liked Tabnine but sometimes the tons of suggestions got annoying. I upgraded my IDE and forgot to add copilot but didn't feel like I needed to. Maybe that&

How is it impossible currently? I had stretches where I would sleep/wake at a full 8 hrs and in time for school. I would be lying if it wasn't ~90% personal accountability of winding down when I needed to. Other 10% was if I wer

I've heard of this research. I wouldn't at all doubt it. I think 8:30 is perfectly reasonable... I just don't think it will have the effects people think it will. Maybe a marginal improvement which is fine to shoot for...

Less BS. Less BS in the comments, less BS in the posts, etc. Honestly, feels like what reddit _should_ feel like or at least used to feel like. When I engage with ppl on HN I don't feel like I'll get a bad faith reply.
