Not sure I'd agree. It was very public, very much reverted and very much a demonstration of the context of the internet. Not to mention a very easily verifiable proof, if people picked up the textbooks and noticed the subtle mistake.

Trust me, in bad public education in the UK the map is simply presented. You cover the concept of how to draw the map but if the teacher used the word "protection" it causes eyes to gloss over... Sounds like you had a good educati

If this wasn't a poor mains system that's closer to a physical DoS attack vector which is with more than a bug bounty if you ever narrowed it down. Think of the number of meetings that could be cut short by the ohp system crashing

Would be nice if a major distro mitigated against this publicly. Why addressing this took so long I think it's worth taking a step back to look into. This isn't some small UI change it impacts system performance in a negative way

I am not saying there was concern over nothing. This default reactive stance causes pointless arguments and discussion as I'm trying to demonstrate. Yes there were 200% valid concerns. But this lead more to something close to hysteria

This just makes the problem worse because little remember this 30 years later and think you're a liar or idiot because you pushed exaggerated claims. In the 80s in the UK acid rain was hyped up, in the 90s it was 20 years of oil reserv
