Artists are scared. We saw autotune caused some controversy. What happens when an artist releases ai voice songs themselves? What about an artist who loses her voice and then releases ai voice songs, is it real then? I think a person or art

But this doesn't seem to have been the case since I bought my first house 25 years ago. Prices have constantly been going up. I'm living in a west coast tech city, but it looks to me like all the tech cities have seen very steady

No. You don't know who wrote the software that implemented that algorithm. In effect, me as the engineer who created photoshop was the creator of that. You needed me in this example to do that. You don't know if ai created that al

Artists can copyright their work no matter what. If they create a computer program to scatter paint, they can copyright the output. If I as a programmer do creative work (ie programming), it should have the same support. This was just a bad

I disagree with the copyright office. I think my creative output as an engineer is not necessarily less creative or original than an artist. We are making an arbitrary distinction here. Artists make devices, machines sometimes. Is the outpu

I bet I can create a machine that uses those 10 cans of paint to do computations. That's all a computer is, really. Those 10 cans of paint swung by an artist are a creative endeavor, but my output as a software engineer with the 10 can

What's the threshold between the AI input and my input that moves it from copyrightable to not? We can automate a lot of those things an artist did on a photo, does that make it not copyrightable (that's a long word, let's us

I can't tell if you are kidding in thinking that's what has been happening. The twitter files turned out to be a kind of huge exaggeration. The govt wasn't really controlling twitter, there was a big exaggeration of what happ

That's a really interesting suggestion. What would it mean to do those two things that you say. What would philosophy mean in terms of an llm, and what would category theory do?

Thanks for posting that. I read through it, it seemed like the main arguments against lab grown meat were: 1. It will take a lot of investment, it's unclear if it will produce enough to matter. 2. It might not get close to real meat in

There are a very few private tesla repair garages that do know how to repair some things. They seem to be run by former tesla repairmen. They have been able to salvage a lot of dead cars. They seem to be mostly in california.
