Neither Java, nor c#, are simple. They're arguable less complex than things like f# and scala, but its quite a lot about the question of familiarity. If you're coming from an imperative, oop, background then these languages will require mo

I've got to say that that is an epic pivot. I'm somewhat fascinated about: a. When you knew it was time to pivot? b. How much time you spent on your social network before moving on? c. How much code/idea reuse there was between the two ide

Indeed, I think the author needs to rephrase 'Java' as 'Java ME' for a lot of that.

Your second example includes 'M$' which is a rather childish and antagonistic way to abbreviate. The tone of the first comment seems to be a little immature as well. I'm not trying to have a go at you personally, but I've found HN to be a

Its interesting because Android was outselling the iphone when the iphone was the most desired platform. It wouldn't be surprising if android took an even greater market share lead in future.

I think you've made a bit of a misconception here in confusing the underlying programming language (Java) with the UI library. Assuming you want a program to act and function naturally, like an OS X application - in which your problem is r

Its a bit of a mockery to talk about something being 'cross platform' when you're talking about running on three different versions of Windows. It might make sense to focus on Windows as a Desktop OS, but the xbox doesn't have equivalent m

Does it matter whether 404 pages are ugly or not? I mean its a nice experience for a confused user, but I'd frankly rather it made suggestions as to similar urls that might exist, where possible.
