There must be a misunderstanding. I'm saying I dislike the constant "this is AI slop" and "this is vibecoded" complaints on posts. I see no value in them and I wish they'd stop. I'm saying nothing about th

I'm definitely not a Star Trek connoisseur but I thought a big part of the lore is the "never again"-ish response to the wars through WW3? But anyway, I share your lack of optimism.

I don't understand the people who think more companies with fewer employees is a good thing. I already feel spammed to death by desperate requests for my consumption as is.

Super Bowl ads, in particular, really are their own thing. People will even watch them later, discuss, share, etc. There are some people who have more interest in the Super Bowl for the ads than the sport. So I'd say it's not mone

I didn't like SV (the show) because it made me feel like I was going to work on Sunday night. I guess that's to its credit: it nailed the culture.

I'm all for it if it'll stop people from commenting about things being AI slop or vibecoded and comes with a new guideline discouraging said comments.

Okay, but when you're asking a model to do things like summarizing documents, analyzing data, or reading docs and producing code, etc, you don't necessarily have a lot of control over the quality of the input.

I don't know if it demonstrates anything, but I do think it's somewhat natural for people to want to interact with tools that feel like they make sense. If I'm going to trust a model to summarize things, go out and do researc

I don't know if I look forward to it, myself, but yeah: I can imagine a future where in person interactions become preferred again because at least you trust the other person is human. Until that also stops being true, I guess.

Didn't know those had a name but that only applies to half the wood frame buildings I lived in. The other ones had no "1" (I assume the foundation/slab was concrete though).

My counter anecdote would be that almost every time I mention my spouse and I met on a dating app, people ask me which one. Edit: people ask me which app, not which spouse.

I find it hard to disagree with this (sadly). I do feels things in general are more "snappy" at the OS level, but once you get into apps (local or web), things don't feel much better than 30 years ago. The two big exceptions
