Noticed this in Gmail, and then suddenly realized how often I used the logo to refresh or go back to my inbox after digging down in a sublabel. Have been mildly annoyed needing to target the much smaller "Inbox" link in the left now.

There was an HN article posted 6 months ago (maybe?) from an ivy-league study (Harvard I want to say...) that found the difference between productive people and unproductive people which seems to suggest the opposite of this blog post. The

This obsession with self-promoting links is what makes reading sites like BoyGeniusReport and everything in the Engadget family so frustrating. Editorial rules seem to be that any in-story link MUST be a self-reference to some keyword mat

Are you guys taking care to send as-plain-as-possible markup from the server to the client and then style it up to keep most the UI development in CSS or are you just sending through raw, styled HTML that gets inserted as-sent directly into

EasyDNS is excellent, but more expensive. It isn't a good place to park a lot of domains, but a great place to host a few important ones. YC/HN uses them, I've contacted them a few times, nice Canandian group.

I absolutely agree; whatever algorithm (or lack of) that Apple uses is a far cry from the detail-oriented work they do on most other things. Not only do my Genius recommendations rarely change, the hit rate of things I actually want to pl

In the context of general marketing you are right, but in the context of Apples walled garden (app store) not only is that their job, it is their reason for existing. The more content they can get under your nose that you like, the more con

Oh, I don't think it matters. It just depends on the social circles you run as to what the noun in that sentence is. You a farmer in Illinois? Then the noun could be "John Deer" or "Monsanto" and you'll get appropriate responses. If you are
