This strikes me as an area where distributed apps on a blockchain could have a big impact. Currently, top piracy options like torrent websites and Kodi addons constantly get taken down by the government (through methods described in this ar

Yup, the marginal convenience advantages to web apps are so minimal compared to the ability to write legitimate native mobile apps. Vue.js and Angular are complete non-starters for me since they don't have native counterparts.

Over 1000 Googlers were cranking on Google Plus, which at the time was a Facebook copy cat. What makes Facebook so threatening to Snapchat is the aggressive cloning in tandem with it's pre-existing, larger network. By the time Google

The fundamental challenge is that of having hand-delivered paper newspapers be the centralized hub of information. Any manifestation of the Internet makes that obsolete - but the specific method of obsoletion may be different by country.

Maybe phrasing it another way could be useful: with or without Facebook, the journalism industry would be heavily declining. Yes, Facebook is how many people use the Internet - but it's a mistake to therefore conclude Facebook is respo

I don't think gift cards are a big conspiracy from the retail industry that primarily perpetuated the idea that cash is a bad gift. It seems more likely that cash became unpopular independently. And for good reason! Trading cash during

On the other hand, it often seems like news coverage is biased in the direction of a horse race. As in, the media is incentivized to make it seem like a close race with a lot of action, because that is engaging.
