interesting, I don't auto-reinvested my dividends, I use those to slowly but surely diversify my portfolio with different companies and industries (which is still a reinvestment I guess) It's kinds interesting and even exciting to

curious, do you count unrealized gains as income as well? I also did some passive index fund investments but I only count cash dividends as actual "income".

Well, yeah I agree that makes sense. I misspoke. Only idiots are always happy and this endless treadmill, our ability to see possible improvements in systems that were already perceived as decent, drives the progress.

It feels like author is depressed. It's a bit sad to read. He manages to pull so much negativity out of the things that are generally have a net-positive impact, things that drive the progress, that are progress. Disappointing article.

Doesn't work in FF with "Search for text when you start typing". I expected better implementation. JS hijacks pretty much every event, and cursor is just a styled span, not a real input, which introduces a bunch of usability

Yep. Floppies were not reliable at all, but cheap, disposable, and very convenient (during those times). My point about SSDs was not about SSD vs floppy, but about SSD vs some other modern tech. e.g. super secure proprietary tape storage.

Thank you. Common sense is rare these days. Did bootcamps ruin everything? All of a sudden there is an influx of people with pushy sales-person/telemarketer type of personality in dev positions who's live goal seems to be to force

It strikes me as odd that people like yourself don't really get developers. The only reason I'm out of the office is to shake off my tunnel vision and to try to solve one of the problems I'm working on by changing the environ
