Cartoon of a president doesn't help USA's reputation.

I realise this is a total straw man, but whenever I read Republicans vs Democrats I can't help but think about how utterly insane it is to have the opinions of 300 million Americans represented by TWO parties. Two. So Americans choose

Doesn't mean less care should be given to the interface. Doesn't mean they aren't subject to the monotony of repeating actions each and every day. While they should be able to react quickly, I'm also sure that they have

Acceptable rate of UI failure depends on the consequences of misinterpretation of the interface. Apparently, for a document uploading service, this case shows an example that's below the acceptable rate. See it this way; you don't

Yes. And no. It is very clear, to you. To me. To other people? The evidence doesn't support that claim. So again: was it clear enough? Apparently not. You can argue about this as long as you want, but interpretation of an interface is

Have to concur with most; while there's some stuff I didn't like about the video (overall still a great video) - those wouldn't have held me back from buying the product. If I wanted the product. I have light switches everywh

Empathy is the ability to feel what others feel. If you feel hate, and they don't, then you're not doing it right.

This is exactly why I brought it up. When compensating (in real life) for a language mismatch, there's no tool that can beat empathy. Try and think yourself in their shoes, and try to understand where they're going with their wo

In communication, there's always two sides. Sender and receiver. It's important that the receiver is open to switching their "language" to that of the sender. If they choose not to accept you and your language, "bei

Goes for any job really; know what you do/don't know, and know what you should/shouldn't know. For some things, you should be able to trust others. It's funny, because it boils down to "don't lie" (to

Yes, it's been built towards motion graphics. Just as Photoshop has been geared towards web design over the years. It was originally a post processing tool. Hence the name. After Effects. Which is why this whole thing seems so similar

> Now I just need to learn After Effects Kinda scares me that After Effects (video manipulation tool) will be used for web animation. Photoshop all over again? .ps: I'm in the same boat of having to learn AE. Or at least improve on

It's also perfectly valid to criticise the criticism for having too high standards. If you expect a car to fly you to the moon, your standards are too high. If you expect Reddit to be like HN, you're also a fair bit off.

Same - but with building simple sites. I'm a designer first and foremost, have been for well over a decade. Started coding (Basic) a decade before that. However, circumstances have led to me being more than that. I'm a copywriter,

It's the coolest trick our minds played on us. Think back to the Nes and SNes era (apologies, I'm a Nintendo fanboy) and the booklets you always got with them. You might recall those booklets had character art in them. I'm fa

The trick to "not saying yes outright" is simply knowing that someone is paying you for your expertise. Saying yes when you shouldn't, just means you're not doing what you're paid for.

Since I started this, I'd make the analogy that "not realising what level of contrast can pose problems" is about as common as "not commenting your code properly".

For some reason I read your entire post in a voice sounding equal parts surprised and annoyed at Facebook not optimizing for the Flashblock add-on. However, I'm going to assume that's just my narrow, PEBKAC'd mind.

Looking at this, the one thing I see is a person "fighting" a machine that's encapsulating them. If we're going to interpret and strengthen moves we make, it might be smarter and safer to leave the interpretation of move
