Beware: “minimally habit forming” is anecdotal. There are many other anecdotes of it being quite addictive. See quitting kratom on reddit for more info.

This idea would only hypothetically work without Medicare or Medicaid. Right now all it does is squeeze the middle class even more as they’re required to further bare the costs of the ever-rising, all-consuming system. So now the middle cla

I have the same reservations. What impetus is there to compete against entrenched cartels/monopolies? Inevitably 5G will have the same 1TB cap Comcast invented in order to juice profits off the death of cable television. LTE had the sa

A decent couch from crate and barrel probably goes for 800-1200 or so. At 50/month for a couch, you’d pay the cost to buy it outright in two years. It would also be interesting to see what they charge for any stains/damage. Is “no

I’d fit that case under my “minimum seat space regulation clause”, but yeah, not gonna happen. I feel for the tall guys on flights, but not enough to want them to jam their seat into my chest. Real enemy here is the airlines and the lack of

Currently flights effectively have no room left anymore -- I have absolutely no idea why the seats on short-haul flights have the ability to recline. It's impossible to use a 15 inch laptop if the person in front of you moves their sea

Not so easy if you’re google-able and clearly work in tech. They won’t squeeze blood from a stone, but if they smell money, they aren’t going to negotiate. The advice frequently found on reddit about negotiating is good, but keep in mind it

I mean, maybe, but do you really think they have some sort of well-staffed cyber-division that would 1. understand this and 2. know what to do with it? My guess is they're still operating like it's the 1980s. Hopefully I'm wr

I think it’s exactly that, willingness to conform, and a very effective filter on age. I know Google does a lot of metrics on hiring. Have they correlated their practice with IQ anywhere? Guessing nothing public as that would trigger a fire

Wouldn't you need some sort of intercepting MITM HTTPS proxy to be able to inspect the traffic for ad content? Thought Google was using https and legit domains to drive ads instead of just doing lookups to youtube-ads.google.com etc. P

Last I checked, most embedded interviews (presumably barring Google etc.) can still be passed if you work through most of K&R (which is quite easy and accessible), know a bit about OS's, and memorize some trivia about locks. Worth

Apple made the only router that my parents could setup. I’m guessing the Google WiFi probably has a similarly friendly user experience, but I’d rather not sell them out to Google. It was a shame that Apple abandoned the airport.
