I know exactly what you're talking about. Cold calling has gotten easier after doing it for some time, but each call feels like an approaching disaster and I've never had a particularly bad call.

To me, unit testing is a way to prevent regressions and try to enforce contracts. Because the same developer usually writes the tests and the code, they have 'the curse of knowledge' and seem to me unlikely to find a lot of bugs this way. T

I heard recently that market naysayers had 'predicted twenty of the last two recessions'. I think that about sums up this activity whether or not the predictions are made by interested (read: untrustworthy) men.

They should concentrate on making users really happy. Features may or may not figure in there. It would be pretty tough to compete with an over 10,000 engineer company with incredible building blocks on features.

This is an important point. Raising taxes is not a static game either. There are a lot of ways people with money avoid taxes now. I think Cuban was right that we do have a spending problem. We spend too much on things that are not important
