Working on fixing this...looks like the scraper croaked on that MDN page. Thanks for finding this.

Here you go :) https://github.com/rgarcia/instacss Data is scraped mostly from MDN using node-scraper and then thrown into mongodb for storage. Backend is also node and just provides a json endpoint for pulling the entire db client-side (

Hey there, creator of instacss here. Thanks for all the feedback! I posted this as a Show HN last week, but it's nice to see that someone has re-discovered it: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3222253 . Since then I've added a few featu

Since it's doing a regex search, for now you can type "^color" to match just "color"--I agree it's not optimal!

Yeah, I like it too, but I don't think most people will think of typing "border$" to get just the "border" property :)

Thanks for the feedback! The search algorithm is very basic right now, and will definitely change to address the "exact match" scenario. The paragraph was a mistake in the template that should be fixed shortly...

Right now it just sorts randomly, which I admit is pretty bad. The search itself is very basic--it just takes your query and regex matches it on property names in the db.

Thanks for the feedback--I only search on property names (not descriptions or possible values), so that's why gradient doesn't work. It's a two-line change to add matching on values and descriptions, so I'll put it on the todo list of "adv

I'd like to see something like this for Backbone collections, e.g. it would take a query on model attributes and generate a subset of the original collection. Then any views (not just lists) tied to this subset would update automatically. I

It looks like quicksand doesn't have text search, and is also about twice the size (14KB).

Can someone explain the origin or meaning of the word "hero" to describe primary marketing/call to action sections? I saw it first in the twitter bootstrap code [1], and now here. [1] view-source: http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/exampl

A lot of people are looking to solve the expense-sharing problem...nothing seems to have caught on, though. Off the top of my head: http://www.venmo.com (has payments) http://www.billmonk.com (the very first) http://www.splitterbug.com

If you bring in tons of third party code you end up with a mess like Pylons. For people new to a framework, it's a pain to learn that when a problem arises you need to go look up the docs for a separate framework.

I think there's an argument to be made that even the industries you mention improve the lives of people in society. Assuming (1) all gambling/cigarette/fast food transactions are voluntary on both sides, and (2) people act rationally, then

Not a backbone expert, but how "correct" is it to have a presentation variable like "selected" tied to a backbone model? For some reason the OP's inclusion of a "selected" attribute on his model struck me as odd. I don't think you'd want to
