Not related to the overall point, but I love this quote: "Apple products are great because Steve Jobs and much of Apple’s upper staff has exceptionally good taste." Come on now: dude knows his computer cases and his shiny gadgets, but that

I agree with what you're saying, but I'd be curious to know what the response to the program would be if terms started to move towards the funders and away from the founders. YC gets a lot of attention from their current terms, which means

A good feature for HN would be if someone adds a new account (one minute ago when I checked this one), submits some sort of trolling or moronic comment that gets down-voted a few times (which hopefully this one will), it should be flagged,

Just because you CAN do something doesn't mean you SHOULD. I think this is a terrible idea. Hack the system so the most deserving person doesn't win and give hackers a bad name in the process. Really...good...idea.

Maybe somebody could put up a poll about whether or not to ban polls about banning sites. If you don't like Jeff's blog, don't click the link. If the community likes the blog, it will get voted up. I don't get what the point of banning it i

To me, this is no different than Facebook charging users for features they already got for free. For example, "pay us $5/month or your feed items will always show up at the bottom of your friends lists" or "pay us $1/month or your news feed

I think the Facebook example is a terrible example. If that had been their business model since day one, then fine, they can do whatever they want because every new user knows what they're getting. But if they get huge because users are flo

No, I won't volunteer how I'm making it better, because that's not why I come to this site. If you want to relate it to HN and ask if my work makes it better, then no, it doesn't. My software doesn't feed starving children in Africa. But it
