This is wrong. Vancouver was never “affordable”. My family moved to Vancouver in the mid-80s and it was by far the most expensive place in Canada. Prices had already climbed rapidly by the time we got there and prices never crashed for 40 y

The one thing where I disagree is Cisco certification. CCIE, at least back in the day, was the gold standard for network engineer. It was pretty much required if you wanted anything to do with networking. I’m not sure now if that’s relevant

Their goal isn’t to see a run on SVB. But to save their investments they all told their startups to pull their money which cause svb to collapse. Now they want the rest of their money safe which is why they want a bailout.

The only depositors at risk at startups. All regular people are made whole. And they are getting ~50% of their holdings in the next week. Why are VCs clambering for a bailout? The system works as designed. No need to do anything else above

The truth is VCs are terrified their investments in their startups are going to go to 0. That’s why the biggest most vocal people are VCs talking about this. So they are framing the “we need to make depositors whole” as if they care about s

The main issue is no longer tech. It’s whether or not they have HTM assets that will bring them under if they have a run on the bank. A lot of the depositors are rich Silicon Valley residents and they may get spooked and pull their money. T
