+1 to choosing a routine you can stick to. Routines like 5x5 can be ok for some but I'm not sure it is a good idea to put most beginners in low rep range workouts before they can learn the movements. Probably best to work on the 8-12 r

I would suppose this is a very common struggle among IT professionals. A few things that have helped me, some of them already mentioned in this thread: - simply don't do it; prioritize more important ideas. - start smaller - some ideas
