Not actually that hard with a redis lock or any database (Postgres has a specific lock for this but you could also just use a record in a table) Far easier than the original single threaded solution - and has fault tolerance baked in cause

I dunno, seems like a really confusing question. Communication is important but I can imagine that explaining this verbally on the spot to an interviewee would not be straightforward especially because the assumptions made around single thr

I would agree and it’s what we should be aiming for. As it is people are just throwing up their hands “what can you do”. Well close all the loopholes for one. I would go as far as to say the vast majority of the loopholes are just grift in

Makes sense, there are lots of requirements for communication retention in financial institutions. If I recall the phone lines are permanently recorded on trading desks by regulators so if anything does happen they have all the info... it&#

People seem to be missing the point here. I think it is fair to assume that the US intelligence apparatus has inside knowledge on how comprised or otherwise different platforms are. They are the experts in compromising apps so I'm goin

I thought this was sarcasm initially, but I think on looking at the rest of your comments that you are actually being serious. wow. Glad I've never had the pleasure of working with you.

I've worked at startups that have had exits and the employees got zilch. I think even in the startups with exits the probability of an employee having their equity turn into cash money is very low (also I doubt 50% of startups have exi

I think you are confusing how lotteries work, most lotteries have additional prizes not just the big grand prize. There are a range of prizes.

That’s an interesting thought experiment actually. If you think about the amount of money given up as a startup employee you will definitely get some winnings. For example, say as a startup employee you are earning/being compensated 80

The only explanation that makes sense to me, is that there are some psychopaths in charge of American foreign policy and their thinking goes like this. 1) we want to control oil and oil prices because it’s crucial to our bank accounts. 2) i
