This is not how I remember it. Default background colour in Netscape Navigator was not white but #c0c0c0 (and IIRC it wast that colour in Mosaic too). And yes, lots of pages relied on the default. For example, this post has some screenshots

You can use Chrome (or Chromium) for development and Firefox for regular browsing. Is that a big deal?

At the moment I can't change the password. It fails with "Failed to save password" error, no more information. EDIT: it finally worked, 4th attempt, and very slowly. Looks like something isn't working 100% as it should E

For personal use (I host my own domain and mail server) I use Thunderbird and, occasionally, mutt. At work we're a Google G-Suite shop, so Gmail web interface.

I think the comment was referring to work remotely for a Spanish company. In Spain, remote work culture is almost nonexistent.

It would be matter of not working for a Spanish company. It makes taxes a bit more complicated though. (Ironically, I did some remote work for a Spanish company when I was living in the UK)

It may be tricky to do remote work from one of these places. In Spain, rural areas may not have broadband at all. You may have phone line, but the quality is so bad that not even ASDL is usable.

After giving a fair chance to Gnome 3 and Unity I decided to seek refuge in XFCE 4. I was a happy user of Gnome 2, but I'm not sure how things are today. How does it compare to XFCE?

I'm just guessing here, but Chrome is not packaged by the distro whilst Firefox is. Personally I like the tar. That's my preferred way to use Firefox in Debian. I untar on ~/apps/firefox, symlink to my ~/bin and it

I'm not familiar with the console anyway, but I remember it had a ridiculous amount or RAM, so I assumed BASIC was out of question. Thanks, that sparkled my curiosity and turns out the source code is available!

The 2600 didn't have BASIC. Not viable with only 128 bytes of RAM. It was written in assembler: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/185693-halo-2600-source/

Duplicati uses C# and I use it on Linux, but I know few people using it on windows too. On Linux the UI is via the browser (the service has a web interface). I think this is the only C# project I use currently.

I think you meant "Lesser GPL with the static linking exception". IIRC glibc is "stock" LGPL 2.1 without any linking exception, so I may have misunderstood your comment and you mean just LGPL. The LGPL is not viral but i
